Peter Chikumbirike

Peter Chikumbirike is also a brilliant sculptor from the Chikumbirike family with no formal art education but with an incredible born talent and a determination that places him in the top list of contemporary sculptors of Zimbabwe.

He was born on July 12, 1958. At a very young age, Peter played with his older brothers modeling in clay and carving in wood. After finishing his academic education in 1976, he rejoined his brothers Israel, Mosses and Canaan in a full time sculptors' journey. Peter's work has not remained unnoticed, being displayed in private collections and in the permanent collections of different museums.
